Description of Class

A Jungian Approach to Exploring the Depths of Creativity This transformative 5-hour workshop blends creativity, self-discovery, and Carl Jung’s theories, inviting participants to explore their unconscious mind through journaling, art, and guided exercises. Led by Amy Alderson, a skilled artist, teacher, and trainee counsellor, the workshop draws on decades of experience in visual arts, mental health, and creative education. Participants will engage in writing, drawing, and collaging in journals and on larger pages, using Jungian concepts such as archetypes, the shadow, anima/animus, and active imagination as guides. Through movement, meditation, and journaling exercises, attendees will connect with archetypal imagery, be encouraged to explore their shadow, and access symbolic insights. These techniques help navigate creative blocks and deepen both artistic practice and personal growth. By the end of the workshop, participants will gain tools to integrate creativity with self- reflection, renewing their artistic practice and balance. Whether you’re seeking inspiration or self-knowledge, this workshop provides a supportive, imaginative space for growth. Your tutor Amy Alderson is a freelance artist with her own company providing art for film, media, galleries, art spaces and by commission.
