Description of Class
There will be a break in this course for half term on Thursday 20th February. A shorter than usual course due to building works at the Buddhist Centre. Are you interested in dancing? Would you like to improve your health? This course is specially devised for people who like dancing and who to explore different dance styles in a safe and tailored environment. The session opens with a short warm up based on the GYROKINESIS® system and it is followed by 45 min of dances from around the world and time - anything from Bollywood to Rumba, from Charleston to Samba, 50s to 90s.  The session will leave you energised and relaxed! Suitable for various needs and abilities as the session can be accommodated to suit your particular situation. Your tutor: Rosaria is an award winning dance artist, choreographer, movement director and university lecturer . As a choreographer and performer, she specializes in outdoor performances and mass movement choreographies. She has extensively worked in the UK and in International Festivals in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil and Cuba since 1999. Her experience is broad, as a community dance practitioner, performer and choreographer for groups of all ages, delivering over 500 sessions (both in dance in practice and academic content) per year. She has performed with bands such as Carnival Collective, Verde Vai, Paraiso School of Samba and London School of Samba, among others. She was the lead dance instructor for the Brighton School of Samba and has been the choreographer and lead female dancer for Maracatu Cruzeiro do Sul and resident dance artist and choreographer for Same Sky since 2009.
