Location: Evolution Arts, 2 Sillwood Terrace, Brighton BN1 2LR
Next start date:
Wednesday 22 January 2020, 7:30pm - 9:30pm

“Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people, citizens of distant epochs, who never knew one another. Books break the shackles of time--proof that humans can work magic." - Carl Sagan

Are you ready to create magic?  This six-week course is perfect for beginners and those who want to hone their writing skills. You’ll learn the foundations of powerful creative writing, explore writers who inspire you, and take away plenty of practical skills to develop your project further.

This is a participatory course. We’ll do inspiring writing exercises in class, and (optional) homework will be set. During the second half of each session, you’ll be invited to share your writing if you would like to. We are very much focused on creating a safe, inclusive space to read, share and talk.

Who is this course for?

Anyone who is interested in playing with words – beginners and advanced writers welcome.

About The Tutor

After studying English Literature and then Creative Writing at University of Sussex, Lucy spent over ten years working as a journalist and holistic therapist while writing fiction late at night. Her short stories have been published in various anthologies, been placed in competitions and won awards, including the Bath Short Story Acorn Award. She also writes a column for the women’s writing magazine Mslexia, and is currently working on a novel. Inhabiting wild spaces makes her feel alive and inspires her creativity; she has lived on a 90-year-old wooden boat, in a house in the woods, and in an off-grid coastguard cottage perched on the cliffs.
