Papercraft Mask Making

Join us for a day of fun making masks! Using papercraft techniques you will work with Michael your tutor to make an everyday object into a mask and also create an amusing (or scary!) character mask. Materials provided but you will need to bring simple tools.  Suitable for adults with a sense of play.

About the tutor

Michael Craven

Following a degree in Fine Art specialising in photography and film and an MA in Film and Television Michael worked as a designer and then a University Principal Lecturer in Design for many years.

He began creating card constructions, collage and artists books in the 90’s and his work has featured on book covers, as greetings cards and as paper construction creations for adults including paper dolls and miniature theatres. Following a move back to Brighton Michael has recently starting working  with Evolution Arts to run his popular workshops in the city.

- A good quality craft knife and a supply of spare blades.

- Small scissors, pencils and, if you like to use them, coloured pencils.

- If you have things you would like to use to decorate your masks do bring them along!

- A sketch book or something to take notes and work on ideas would also be useful.
